the function of the hair

Hair covers the entire surface of the entire skin except the palms, soles, lips and eyelids. It serves as an adornment and as protection for the skin and various structures of the body. Healthy hair and an appropriate hairstyle may improve an individual's appearance and self-image.
There are three types of hair. These are found on specific areas of the body
1. The long hair
2. The short hair
3. The Lanugo hair
long hair grows from the scalp. Its maximum length may reach 3-5 feet if left uncut. The Hair at the top and back of the head may grow longer than the hair at the sides of the head. Long hair also grows on men's faces. Long hair protects the scalp against injury, the rays of the sun and cold weather.
short hair grows in the regions of the axilla and pubis as well as in the nostrils and on the ears, eyebrows and eyelids. Eyebrows keep sweat from running into the eyes. Eyelashes keep excessive light and dust out of the eyes. Nostril hairs filter impurities and dust from the air. Dust is also filtered by the hairs in the ears.
Lanugo hair is soft, down-like and frequently, though not always, colorless. Except for those surfaces of the body entirely devoid of hair (palms, soles ,lips and eyelids) or covered with other varieties, lanugo hair is found over the entire surface of the body.
